i dropped matt off today at home in north van

a fire started across the street

it was pretty crazy

the fire dept took a long time to get there

the heat was so strong

even from over a block away

i made a few videos of it

but i cant really talk about it

cause it makes me sad

nobody was hurt

but somebody got nothing left

i wish i was a fireman

becky and i went last night to watch the american interpretation of love.

using explosives.

i dropped okee off at third beach yesterday in the middle of the afternoon

with the kayak inside

to ensure a close parking spot for launching

i spent the day on foot (yes i am still able to walk)

then at dusk we rushed in a cab to okee

big boats make big splashes

big rocks make big splashes

but we got ashore

and only got wet at the very last stretch.

then after we got the kayak on the beach

i reached in my pocket

empty

uhoh

i lost my keys to okee in the middle of the ocean

using a strangers phone

called jonas to the rescue

to go to my house and get spare set from desk

and then to come to third beach

third beach is the hidden beach in stanley park

and jonas drove by it twice before making the turn

finally getting into okee

i was cold and wet and dirty

and scared half to death of the giant raccoons

that had gathered to clean up the peoples trash

thanks becky for being so much help

cause i sure seem to get us into trouble lately.

cant wait til next saturday for the finale

just got back from soundwave 2008 today.

we went early and stayed for pretty much the whole thing

usually i arrive late and leave shortly thereafter

chisai even had fun frolicking in the bushes

when she wasnt being a wussy pussy hiding under okee

we drove to matt's grandma's old house

and i met his aunt (thats two family members so far)

the drive to ucluelet was fun for me

but not so much for matt and chisai

i saw deer and a bear

its funny how disapointed i get when i return from a roadtrip without seeing any livestock

(i know its wildlife but really same thing to the top of the food chain - dont you think?)

since we got to the party a day early we actually got a really good camping spot

joel brought it to my attention that i am always in one of the farthest spots possible from the party

i was about to argue him until i realized he was right

i need my space

the gorillas were there

the dirt and the dust and a bit of the wind was there

but thankfully the rain was not

joel and andrea were there

sg and joe and monica and rob too

aaron and crystal trekked in

the music was soooo good when it was good

but so bad when it was bad

my tolerance for bad music increases in relation to how deep into the woods i am

it was a great trip

i didnt even leave angry

so i guess soundwave 2009 will be something to look forward to.

im going to soundwave this weekend. with matt. and chisai.

yippee!!!

i bought chisai a safety vest at the chinese night market last night.

its orange with reflective yellow stripes.

i think she'll love it.
